 | Al began his career in real estate lending in 1984 at the National Bank of Detroit as a construction lender and moved into mortgage banking in 1987 by joining the Michigan based mortgage banking firm Proctor and Associates. During his 25 year career, Al has closed over $3 Billion of debt and equity transactions for most all commercial property types. In 1994, he established the Detroit office for GMAC Commercial Mortgage (GMACCM) and was in charge of all conventional mortgage banking in Michigan. In 1998, Al relocated to Jacksonville, FL to open a GMACCM mortgage banking office and establish a state –wide mortgage banking platform. By 2001, GMACCM had 5 Florida offices and became one of the dominant commercial mortgage banking firms in the state. This platform was the foundation for what is now Tavernier Capital Partners, LLC. In 2007, Al and several partners purchased the Florida mortgage banking operations from Capmark (which had purchased GMACCM 2 years earlier) renaming the privately owned company Tavernier Capital Partners. Mr. Moczul has a B.S. in Finance from Michigan State University and is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and the Urban Land Institute. Throughout his career, Al has served on numerous advisory counsels within the commercial mortgage industry.
| |  | As a Managing Principal of Tavernier Capital Partners, TJ has 29 years of correspondent mortgage banking experience. He started his career in the late 1970’s with DeFranceau Realty Group. Upon leaving DRG, he joined Trust Company Mortgage, one of the largest correspondent mortgage banking firms in the Florida market at that time. He later worked for Bank of America and First Interstate Bank where he played a dual role as construction lender and correspondent mortgage banker. In 1991, along with three other partners, TJ formed the Carey Kramer Company – North Florida, which they successfully ran for the next 10 years until purchased by GMACCM in 2001, where TJ served as Co-Branch Manager of the Tampa office. He has his B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Florida. He is a member of MBA, ULI, ICSC and is a Licensed Mortgage Broker.
| |  | Russ has 37 years of mortgage banking experience with a strong production history. His professional experience is with debt and equity placement with Life Insurance Companies, Conduits, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and FHA. His career started as a Mortgage Loan Officer for South Carolina National Bank from 1973-1977. From 1977-1980, he served as Vice President of NCNB Mortgage Corporation. In 1980, Mr. Callahan relocated to Tampa where from 1980-1988, he worked for Stockton, Whatley, Davin & Company as Vice President/Manager in Tampa. From 1988-1993, Russ was Vice President/Manager for BancBoston Mortgage Corporation. He served as Vice President at Legg Mason Real Estate Services, Inc. from 1993 to 1999. In 2000, he joined GMACCM as Senior Vice President/Branch Manager in Tampa. He holds a BS in Business Administration / Banking and Finance from The University of South Carolina. He is a member of ICSC, MBA and a Board Member and Past President of the Real Estate Investment Council, Inc. He is a Board Member of NAIOP and a past member of the District Council Steering Committee of the Urban Land Institute. Mr. Callahan is a Licensed Florida Real Estate Broker and Mortgage Broker.
| |  | Marc has 30 years of mortgage banking experience, starting his career with Manufacturers Hanover Mortgage Corporation from 1979 to 1983. Mr. Sumner moved to Florida in April of 1983 and ran Security Pacific Mortgage Corp. in Tampa, Florida as Manager from 1983 to 1984. He then formed MTS Mortgage in May, 1984 and in 1992 merged MTS Mortgage with CKP, Silvester, Fraser to form Carey Kramer Company. Marc and his three partners sold Carey Kramer to GMAC Commercial Mortgage in 2001. Mr. Sumner ran the Orlando operation of GMAC doing over $1,000,000,000 in financing prior to the acquisition by KKR and formation of Capmark Finance Group. Marc, along with other officers of Capmark, acquired the Florida operations of Capmark in February, 2007 creating Tavernier Capital Partners. Marc serves as Principal and Manager of the Tavernier Orlando office, has a Bachelor of Science-Finance from Indiana University and is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker and Mortgage Banker.
| |  | Joe is an original Managing Member of Tavernier Capital Partners and manages the Miami office for TCP. He has 28 years of real estate financing experience in the South Florida Market. Prior to his partnership with Tavernier Capital Partners, LLC, he worked for W. Lyman Case & Co. from 1981 to 1990 in their South Florida offices. Joe was a Partner at CSC Cypress Financial, Inc., a privately owned Mortgage Banking Company from 1991 to 2000. From 2000 to 2006, Mr. Schrage was Senior Vice President/Branch Manager for Capmark/GMACCM for the Miami branch. His education includes a Master of Science Management and Finance from Florida International University, located in Miami, Florida. He also has a Bachelor of Science with dual majors in Accounting and Real Estate from Indiana University. He is a licensed Florida Mortgage Broker, Florida Real Estate Broker, and Indiana Real Estate Broker.
| |  | Saul has 26 years of Mortgage Banking experience. He first worked for The Sterling Companies in 1993 where he served as Vice President until 1996. From 1996-2003, he served as Senior Director for Holliday Fengolio Fowler. In 2003, he joined GMACCM serving as Vice President in the Boca Raton office. He received his MBA from George Washington University and his BSBA from American University. He is a Licensed Mortgage Broker and member of ICSC.
| |  | Leland has over 10 years of experience in mortgage banking operations. Prior to joining Tavernier, he worked directly for the head of Production at Capmark/GMACCM from early 2000 to late 2006 as a Senior Vice President/Managing Director – Mortgage Banking Operations. For three years prior, Leland worked for Keystone Mortgage in Phoenix, AZ as their COO/CFO. Before focusing on the mortgage banking industry he worked 10 years as a CPA in public accounting for Arthur Andersen and KPMG Peat Marwick in auditing and consulting. Leland is a CPA and has Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University.
